Rambler.ru offers proprietary web search (Rambler Search), e-mail, rating and directory, media, ecommerce and other services to the Russian-speaking community globally, which is estimated at more than 280 million people.
Rambler.ru commenced commercial operations in 1996 as one of Russia's first search engines and developed the Top 100 Rating and Classification system, a tool to track Internet traffic and to rank Internet sites. Rambler.ru subsequently expanded its resources to include a number of content sections and services. The expansion was influenced by the emergence of a viable Internet advertising market in Russia.
In 2006, Rambler.ru reached 24.4 million unique monthly users, up approximately 25% from the 19.5 million users in 2005.
